Specimen Requirements

Submit one of the following:

 

Fresh specimen required

 

  a) Specimen Type: Body Fluid

      Container/Tube: Sterile tube with 0.6 mL transfix media

      Preferred Volume: 3.0 - 6.0 mL

      (Prearrange with Flow Cytometry Laboratory for transport media prior sample collection)

 

(b) Specimen Type: "Small cell number" samples, e.g. CSF, vitreous biopsies

      Container/Tube: Sterile tube with 0.2 mL transfix media

      Preferred Volume: 1.0 - 2.0 mL

      (Prearrange with Flow Cytometry Laboratory for transport media prior sample collection)

Specimen Stability

Fresh specimen required

Ambient 24 hours (preferred)
Refrigerate 48 hours
