Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type 1: Serum / Plasma
Container/Tube: Gold Top (SSTII) / Green Top (Li Heparin)
Volume:  5.0mL / 4.5mL
Minimum Volume: 0.5mL

 

Specimen Type 2: 24 hours Urine
Container/Tube: The following types of 24hr urine containers are acceptable:

  • No preservatives,
  • 3g Thymol

Volume:  4000mL
Minimum Volume: 20mL

 

Collection Instructions: Send urine and serum/plasma samples together to the lab.
