Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type:
1. Respiratory:
a. Sputum
b. Aspirate : Nasopharyngeal or endo-tracheal tube, nasopharyngeal or endo-tracheal tube
At least 1 mL of undiluted sample in a sterile leak-proof screw-capped container.
2. Throat swab or tracheal swab:
Use only Dacron-tipped swab. Send dry in sterile container or swab sheath.
