Useful For
P1NP is a bone formation marker recommended by the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC) as the reference marker for assessing bone turnover in osteoporosis. It is also useful in bone health management such as monitoring osteoporosis treatment response and assessing disease activity in Paget's disease of bone and osteoblastic bone metastases.
