Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: CSF and Serum
Container/Tube: Sterile screw-capped container for CSF and Gold Top (SSTII) for serum.
Volume: 2.0 mL for CSF and 6.4 mL for serum
Minimum volume: 1.0 mL each for CSF and serum
Collection Instructions: Send both blood and CSF samples to Laboratory immediately. Allow specimen to clot for 30 mins and centrifuge within 2 hrs
