Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Nasal, axilla, groin swabs
Container/Tube: MRSA eSwab, M40 transystem Amies agar transport media (Copan)(for non-NUH patients)
Volume: 2 swabs
Collection Instructions: Collect specimen with a sterile swab. Place swab in transport medium.
- One swab (Pink swab) should be used for axilla and groin areas.
- One swab (White swab) should be used for both sides of nose.
- The swabs should be pooled and sent as one request.
