Minimum Volume: 5.0 g (size of a grape) / 2.0 mL (liquid stool)

Container/Tube: Glass slide collect set
Volume: Entire collection
Collection Instructions: Please refer to Specimen Collection for Microsporidia.
Please collect glass slide collect set from NUH Microbiology Laboratory.
Corneal scraping: Do not share sample with other requests.
Specimen Type: Urine
Container/Tube: Sterile screw-capped container
Volume: 20.0 mL
Minimum Volume: 10.0 mL
Collection Insructions: Collect clean catch urine during the mid-day between noon to 3 pm.

Unacceptable Condition
Stool specimen:
More than 1 stool specimen received on the same day.
Stool specimen contaminated with urine.
Corneal scraping:
1) Do not smear across the entire slide. This will reduce the chance of picking up the organism. Smear within the circle.
2) Do not stick 2 slides with scotch tape together (with sample in between). This will create unnecessary safety hazard for staff handling slides.
