Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Fluid or aspirate. Specify the source of specimen, e.g. peritoneal fluid, knee joint fluid, etc.
Container/Tube: Sterile screw-capped container. For eye specimens, syringes (capped, without needles) are acceptable.
Volume: 5.0 mL
Minimum Volume: 2.0 mL
Collection Instructions: Please refer to Anaerobic Culture (for suitability of samples for anaerobic culture).
