Specimen Requirements

For post-transplant (Recipient):
Specimen Type: Whole blood or bone marrow aspirate
Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)
Specimen Volume: 6mL (at least 1mL for bone marrow aspirate)

 

Whole blood or bone marrow aspirate sample will be sent to Stem Cell Laboratory for small scale cell selection before process

Days and Times Performed

Bimonthly, TAT 2-10 working days.

Useful For

For determination of the relative amounts of donor and recipient cells (or mixed chimerism) in the specimen, either CD3 alone or CD3, CD19 and CD56 in allogeneic stem cell transplant patients. An indicator of bone marrow transplant success.
