Draw blood without stasis to avoid spurious lactate elevation. Mix specimen well to avoid clotting. Chill specimen and send to the Lab immediately.

Container/Tube: Gray Top (Sodium Fluoride/Potassium Oxalate)
Volume: 4.5mL
Minimum Volume: 0.5mL plasma
Collection Instructions: Do not use torniquet during sample collection to avoid spurious lactate elevation. Send sample on ice to Laboratory immediately.
