Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Serum
Container/Tube: Red top/ SSTII Gold top.
Minimum volume: 0 min specimen - 3.0mL serum, 15 min specimen -1.5mLserum
Collection Instructions: Collect 2 yellow tubes (2x5mL) or 3 yellow child tubes (for 5-11 yrs old) or 12 yellow paeds tubes of blood prior to ICG injection. Collect another yellow tube of blood (1x5mL) or 2 yellow child tubes (for 5-11 yrs old) or 6 yellow paeds tubes exactly 15 minutes after injection.
The remaining ICG in bottle must be sent along with the specimens. After collection, wrap all blood specimens in aluminium foil before sending to the laboratory
It is important to include the bottle of ICG dye together with the samples.
