Reference Interval
A low pleural fluid glucose <3.4 mmol/L may be found in complicated parapneumonic effusions, empyema, rheumatoid pleuritis and pleural effusions associated with TB, malignancy and esophageal rupture.
This does not apply to other fluid types.
