Antibodies to glomerular basement membrane (GBM) antigens cause glomerulonephritis, Goodpasture syndrome glomerulonephritis, often with rapid, onset of renal failure and pulmonary haemorrhage) and occasionally pulmonary haemosiderosis. Anti-GBM can be used to evaluate rapid onset renal failure.
