Useful For
Clinical Usage Autoantibodies against neutrophil cytoplasmic antigens have been found in patients with Wegener’s ranulomatosis, a disease associated with a necrotising granulomatous vasculitis affecting the upper and lower respiratory tract and the kidney. These antibodies have also been observed in microscopic polyarthriitis, SLE and vasculitis. They correlate best in individuals with a necrotising crescentic glomerulonephritis, with or without systemic complications.
