Reference Interval
Elevations of ascitic amylase above serum reference range may be found in up to 90% of patients with acute pancreatitis or pancreatic pseudocyst.
Elevations of pleural amylase above serum reference range may be seen in acute pancreatitis, pancreatic pseudocyst, rupture of esophagus, ruptured ectopic pregnancy or pleural malignancy etc. Please correlate with clinical findings.
This does not apply to other fluid types.
