Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: CSF
Container/Tube: Sterile vial clean plastic container
Minimum Volume: 2.0mL
Collection Instructions:
Discard the first 2 ml of CSF that flows from the tap. Collect 2-5 ml of clear, colorless CSF for testing. Bloody CSF cannot be accurately tested.
For NUH patients - send specimen to lab immediately after collection on ice.
Send specimen with CSF RT/QulC Prion Marker Request Form
