Container/Tube: Sterile vial clean plastic container
Minimum Volume: 1.0mL
Collection Instructions:
1. Place specimen in ice and send to laboratory immediately.
2. Paired plasma amino acid must be taken within 1 hour of LP if non-ketotic hyperglycinemia is suspected. Order test in separate accession.

Evaluating patients with possible inborn errors of amino acid metabolism, in particular nonketotic hyperglycinemia and serine biosynthesis defects, especially when used in conjunction with concomitantly drawn plasma specimens.
